Watercolor Travel Journal Supply List
- A BACKPACK OR BAG TO EASILY CARRY WITH SUPPLIES:
- WATERCOLOR PLASTIC TIGHT LID JAR=A water tight small jar to carry in your bag.
- WATERCOLOR PENCILS=Water soluble colored pencils
- AN HB DRAWING PENCIL AND KNEADED ERASER AND PENCIL SHARPENER
- A FEW BLACK LINED PENS= A fine black lined ink pen that you like to draw with (I use micron pigma or Staedtler . 01 black
- A WATERCOLOR BRUSH OR TWO=A good point round watercolor brush. #2 and #6
- WATERCOLOR PAPER OR DRAWING PAD=Watercolor paper or a sketch book with Bristol board weight
- GLUE STICK OR SMALL JAR OF WHITE GLUE=A glue stick or elmer’s white glue, small container
- PAPER TOWELS=A few folded paper towels
- A WASHABLE PAD TO SIT ON=A little light weight chair or pad to sit on the ground.
- WATERCOLORS=these can be cheap prang colors or a good set that you are used to using. Or a full palette of favorite colors that include the major primaries and mixing colors. Any grade of watercolor will work.
- A CLOSEABLE PALETTE= this needs to be put into a plastic zip lock bag to keep your gear safe
- A HAT for sun protection
- SUNSCREEN
- PAPER: I buy a full sheet of Arches 140lb hotpress paper to tear into a working size for traveling. These can be put into a zip locked bag.
- CHEAP SKETCH PAPER OR COPY PAPER: These are used to do value studies.
- A blank journal is also good! Its safe for traveling! Easy to travel with.
